Financial Closing of the First Slovak PPP Contract delayed in 18 Days |
 4. 5. 2010
The deadline for completing financial issues concerning the construction of selected stretches of the D1 motorway via public-private partnership (PPP) projects has been put back by 18 days, Transport Minster Lubomir Vazny said on Friday. "I've agreed to extending the deadline for completing the financial aspects of the D1 motorway project to May 18, 2010. I made the decision after the funding was approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and after considering the fact that the approval of the D1's funding by 20 participating banks, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), is in its final stage," added Vazny.

D4 could be built through PPP |
 1. 1. 2010
One of the priorities of the Ministry of Transport in 2010 is to prepare the construction of the Bratislava bypass (part of the D4 highway). The Minister of Transport, Ľubomír Vážny, would like to accelerate the preparatory works due to the increasing traffic intensity in Bratislava. He believes that the bypass could be finished by 2017. If it would be conducted trough a public-private partnership, it could be finished a year and a half or even two years earlier, says the Minister. The future of the project will depend on the final opinion in the environmental impact assessment (EIA), which will be ready in the first half of 2010.
